Opuntia sp. Joseph's Coat JOSEPH'S COAT PRICKLY PEAR
A very lush, shiny skinned, fast growing prickly pear that is beautifully painted with multiple colors of cream, green, and pink tints that make it very colorful and interesting long before a single flower ever emerges. And when it does bloom, the flowers are bright, cheerful, lemon yellow reminders of spring that pop up on the ends of the "pads of many colors." Very pretty in pots, especially terra-cota in color, as it highlights this colorful cactus body. Can grow up to 3 1/2' tall and about 2' wide. Loves plenty of water as long as there are short dry intervals between, and appreciates some occasional fertilizing to maintain its cheerful color. Hardy to mid 20s; full sun.
